Reporting to: EHS Coordinator or Department Head

Division: Health, Safety & Environment


An EHS Administrator is responsible for creating and maintaining the region’s health and safety documentation and records, including training records.



Health and Safety Policies and Programs

  • Reads, understands and follows QMLP’s Corporate Programs, Policies and Procedures
  • Revises, updates and maintains all policy and program documents
  • Maintains all paperwork related to audits; may schedule audits as required



  • Prepares, updates, distributes and maintains health and safety related documentation as required for the assigned worksites
  • Assists the Supervisor/Manager or EHS Coordinator in maintaining EHS records for the worksite as necessary



  • Prepares, updates and distributes required training documents, including written materials, presentations, tests, etcetera
  • Coordinates, schedules and tracks employee Orientations and any other safety training
  • Makes recommendations for improvements to training
  • May be required to assist in developing and delivering training programs



  • Assists the EHS Coordinator and Division Head as required
  • Other responsibilities as required
  • This position may evolve into an EHS Coordinator role, depending on the skills and training of the incumbent




  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline preferred or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience


Occupational Certification

  • Progress toward certifications in Occupational Health and Safety an asset
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract is an asset



  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an administrative role
  • Previous experience in Health and Safety Policies and Programs, WCB/WSIB applications, ESRTW program implementation, is an asset
  • Experience in COR auditing is an asset
  • Work in unionized and non-unionized work environments is an asset



  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety related legislation, provincial, federal and others as applicable



  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Must be organized, with a strong attention to details
  • Excellent team player, cooperative approach at all levels, strong relationship building capabilities and ability to treat peers at all levels with respect
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good group presentation skills (i.e. orientation training, group instruction, orientations and HSE seminars), is an asset
  • Motivated and driven self-starter able to work with minimal supervision

Typically an office based role, with infrequent travel required on occasion to project sites, off site meetings, conferences, etcetera.
