POSITION SUMMARY

This position implements local and national procurement and sourcing strategies under the leadership of the Procurement Manager and in close cooperation with division Business leaders, with a focus on corporate/administrative-oriented spending such as travel and office supplies, and some project-related spending in limited areas where advantages can be gained through economies of scale such as fuel, transportation, personal protective equipment and equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide sourcing and procurement support for goods and services related to Travel, Warehouse, Fleet and other assigned categories.
  • Issue POs and receive invoices for approved suppliers
  • Oversee the supplier onboarding process
  • Support supplier RFx preparation, analysis, negotiation, contract awards and implementation
  • Draft and finalize contracts for execution by stakeholders, management and legal.
  • Apply category expertise as well as industry-related expertise to vendor discovery, selection, and ongoing management process.
  • Perform sourcing functions, including spend analysis, market analysis and sourcing/contract strategy development
  • Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships to achieve cost, quality, service, and delivery targets.
  • Manage performance metrics to measure supplier performance
  • Collaborate with division operations and field teams to support project procurement and sourcing activities
  • Maintain systems data integrity – item master/catalogue, vendor records, contract database, sourcing records, etc.
  • Perform administrative functions for the department on an as needed basis

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent level of 4 years’ Post-Secondary education
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) or Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) designation an asset

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a procurement or strategic sourcing role, preferably within the remediation, construction, demolition, emergency response or similar industry
  • Experience in dealing with multi-stakeholder engagement

Knowledge

  • Previous procurement experience working with a sourcing methodology
  • Experience working with Request for Proposal/Request for Quote documents, contracts, service level agreements and statements of work
  • Must have sourcing, negotiation and contracting skills
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV software an asset
  • Strong track record of building and maintaining solid relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers
  • Strong analytical skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is primarily in an office environment but requires occasional travel to work sites and other office locations.
