The PLFP project is centered around arranging renewable energy and boosting positive climate design on a city-wide scale to foresee a more sustainable future.

Due to the continuous expansion and growth of the company with exciting projects constantly coming under our wing, QM Environmental invites applications for the role of Vice President, IT to join our team, based out of QM’s head office in Mississauga, ON.


The Senior Systems Analyst is responsible for continuously analyzing, monitoring and improving QM’s systems to ensure that they continuously meet the business needs in a rapidly changing environment. This is a hands-on role, working in a production/application development environment.


Business Analysis & Support

  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand and analyze the business needs; make recommendations for systems solutions
  • Analyzes current systems; makes the necessary changes to ensure that all systems are being used to their full extent; includes training users accordingly
  • Migrate existing Jet Reports and develop reports for teams across the business
  • Implement/create new interfaces between existing and new hardware and applications (dashboards, reports, etcetera), compiling/transforming data across multiple platforms
  • Improve and document the technical processes around application support
  • Provide technical support to teams within the organization, and to external clients when required
  • Prioritize and handle service requests and incidents
  • Manage ticketed query system and ensuring comprehensive database of queries and resolutions is kept up to date
  • Prepare maintenance plans and upgrading schedules for the organization’s systems
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to departmental initiatives; process mapping
  • Lead or participate in big data analytics and business process re-engineering, including uncovering trends, patterns, and correlations in large amounts of raw data to help the business make data-informed decisions

Implementations & Training

  • Coordinate and project-manage system upgrades, implementations, and integrations, including ERP & Project Management systems, SharePoint, Lightship, UKG/Krono, MS Business Central
  • Evaluate and recommend ideal methods of operation and execution for project evaluation with impact assessments; develop tools, practices and controls that increase operational efficiency and quality of information
  • Document technical designs for IT and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for end-users
  • Review operating models and new services; create appropriate process workflows
  • Identify and resolve technical issues and gaps during system implementations
  • Prepare or assist with process mapping, testing strategies, plans, scenarios, and scripts
  • Assist power-users in developing testing scripts and business scenarios for testing cycles
  • Develop documentation of implemented business process and training material; make recommendations and implement improvements on a continuous basis
  • Assist power-users in delivering regular and customized training for end users; build and deliver ‘train-the-trainer’ sessions to ensure the training is delivered to end-users effectively
  • Develop and present multimedia training sessions


  • Ensures all work is done in alignment with objectives
  • Chairs meetings and conference calls; prepares and conducts presentations to stakeholders as necessary
  • Follows all safety rules and company policies
  • Other responsibilities as required


  • Bachelor’s Degree in computing studies/Information Systems/Business Administration/Systems design & development, or similar discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of major ERP system implementation experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience within a project-related organization, preferably construction or similar industry, excluding consulting
  • Must be highly technically competent, with detailed knowledge and extensive experience working with Microsoft Dynamics Navision, Business Central, Project Operations, Jet Reports, as well as an in-depth understanding of the functionality within these systems to troubleshoot and resolve application or infrastructure issues.
  • Experience with cloud-based and other software including SharePoint, Lightship, UKG/Kronos, SAAP Concur, WordPress, B2W (Bid2Win), Procore, etcetera
  • Highly adept at analyzing systems that solve business needs efficiently; strong business and technical aptitude
  • Experience with software programming and database administrator (DBA), SQL admin, and other Microsoft-based languages and programs
  • Proven background in supporting desktop applications, including Microsoft Windows, Office 365, desk phone systems and IT hardware
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to clearly communicate recommendations
  • Good customer service and relationship management experience; service-oriented disposition
  • A solid ERP Project management and business acumen within the construction industry and the ability to manage multiple high-level tasks under pressure
  • Keeps up with software and systems-development trends
  • Experience with system and process mapping and documentation; strong communication, including writing and presentation skills
  • Financial background is an asset

Work is primarily in QM’s head office located at 5155 Spectrum Way, Unit 8, Mississauga, ON, L4W 5A1. Occasional travel to job sites, QM offices, and/or vendor/supplier sites will be required.
