POSITION SUMMARY

 

This is an Operations role, responsible for assisting the Project Manager with projects from start to finish, ensuring that projects are completed according to the schedule, contract specification and budget.  Reporting directly to the Project Manager/s, Project Coordinators act as “Deputy Project Managers”.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management Support                                                                        

  1. Focus on project management support for the team, to ensure deliverables are met and client requirements are sourced in a timely and professional manner
  2. Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established schedules
  3. Prepare contracts to contractual agreements with consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
  4. Assist Project Manager with compiling and documenting progress billings for clients
  5. Attend mandatory site meetings for bidding QRI project manager when they are not available
  6. Attend monthly project manager meetings- Complete and file minutes of meetings
  7. Compile and maintain project summary sheets
  8. Follow up with subcontractors and subordinate staff to ensure work is being completed
  9. Provide training to site superintendents on field data entry
  10. Project administration and project management during overload

Business Development

  1. Search for and distribute bid opportunities
  2. Assist with the preparation of proposals/prequalification's

 

Documentation Support

  1. Obtain business license for job location
  2. Prepare all field packages for Superintendents
  3. Prepare contracts and additions to contractual agreements with consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
  4. File copy of signed contract for audit requirements
  5. Update standard project checklist
  6. Obtain Certificates of Insurance
  7. Obtain project numbers/create files

 

Health and Safety

  1. Read, understand and follow Corporate Health and Safety Program, Policy and Procedures
  2. Ensures health and safety is considered in the performance of all activities
  3. Support local Health and Safety Coordinators, as required.

 

Technical Application

  1. Arrange soil testing/analysis for facilities, and organize turning/flipping and sampling of biocell if necessary
  2. Participate in ongoing industry training to ensure "best practices"
  3. Analysis of data for projects

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education

  1. Graduate from both a secondary and a post-secondary institution
  2. Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Earth Science, Civil Engineering, or Environmental Engineering preferred

 

Experience

  1. In preparing construction estimates
  2. In managing employees and at least two (2) years with the direct responsibility for all resource allocation, management responsibilities, and administration of prime contracts, subcontracts, and contract changes
  3. In reviewing environmental site assessment reports for the purposes of understanding the contamination conditions of a property and how this relates to the implementation of a remediation solution

 

Knowledge

  1. Of environmental legislation, standards, and guidelines related to contaminated sites
  2. An understanding of engineering design, tender, and construction management processes and related contractual conditions for a variety of remediation technologies
  3. Software including, but not limited to, MS Excel 2010 or newer, MS Project (or similiar), and ERPs (MS Dynamics NAV GP or similar)
  4. Experience in using GIS Application, AutoCAD, and Topcon Magnet Office is considered as an asset.
  5. Knowledge in processing survey data is considered as an asset.

WORK HOURS:

12 hour shifts (7am to 7pm) on a rotation of 14 days ON and 14 days OFF

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Both office and outdoor activities related to typical construction site work environments. Ability to work in inclement weather conditions and travel are required.
